Three selection modes are available: "basic", "rectangular", and "circular". These three modes can be combined by holding the Shift key down. Clicking on a selected unit deselects that unit. |

The "deselect" button cancels the current selection. Once a selection is made, the "save" button allows you to save the selection for later use. The "recall" button allows you to reactivate a previously saved selection. |

The "zoom selection" button allows you to zoom in and centre on the selected area.
The "search" button allows you to select a city by typing its name in full or in part.
 Tip: you can easily locate a city by searching for a city name and zooming the selection; the search also works with part of the name. |
